Automation of Distribution Substations

Execution Background

Since 2018, Tayf Pardazan Espadana has been designing and manufacturing devices for the automation of distribution substations. Over the years, the devices produced by the company have been installed and commissioned in several 20 kV distribution substations.

Substation Monitoring at a Glance

The company’s proposed solution for these projects involves collecting data on all electrical parameters, including:

• Three-phase voltage
• Current for the main neutral feeder (on the secondary side of the transformer) and all outgoing feeders from the substation
• Phase angle measurement across all phases of the main feeder and outgoing feeders
• Measurement of apparent, active, and reactive power
• Data collection on switches, substation relay status (Buchholz and thermal relays of the transformer)
• Issuing commands to switches
• Substation access monitoring, including sensors to determine substation status and remote door-opening commands

The collected and transmitted data is sent to the distribution company’s SCADA system for operational use.

Project Gallery

Currently, more than 17 substations across various departments of the Isfahan Regional Electricity Distribution Company are equipped with this system, with all substation data being displayed on the company’s SCADA platform through this solution.
